Clare Palin, a senior at Chaparral High in Arizona, won the girls elite long jump with a leap of 18-10 (5.74m) at the 83rd Chandler Rotary Invitational at Chandler High's Austin Field in Arizona. Palin also helped Chaparral finish second in the seeded 4x100-meter relay in 49.28 seconds, along with taking third in the elite triple jump at 37-9 (11.50m) and fourth in the seeded 100-meter dash in a personal-best 12.50 seconds. Palin, who matched the No. 5 long jump performance in meet history, was selected as the girls field event athlete of the meet.
